The Vodoro app showing your upcoming rides

Simplicity

You drive. Vodoro does the maths.

Detour, price, recurring dates, the start and end of a ride: what used to take phone calls and mental arithmetic, the app now does for you.

The detour calculates itself

When someone asks to ride along, Vodoro works out the new route with their pickup and drop-off point. As a driver you see straight away how many minutes it adds, and requests that would exceed your maximum extra time are declined automatically.

Automatic for every request

The price is clear before you ask

The app works out each passenger's share from distance and detour and shows the maximum up front. If the total would go above the legal limit, it lowers the prices automatically – nobody has to do the maths.

Set up once, ride every week

You create a recurring ride – every weekday or every other week – once, and the app creates every single date, even across the switch to summer time.

Runs by itself

Rides are marked as started and completed automatically, and everyone on board is notified. Ride alerts and ride requests look for matching rides in the background.

Savings calculator

What ride sharing saves you

Pick your route and how many of you share the car. The estimate assumes you split the fuel equally; the actual price is set by the driver. As a passenger, you also save wear and tear on your own car.

How it works

Three steps to your first shared ride

  1. Enter your route

Where and when? As a driver you add your free seats, as a passenger you search for a matching ride.

  2. Find a matching ride

Vodoro shows you rides that start and end near your pickup point and destination. Can't find one? Then start a ride-sharing request.

  3. Ride together

Agree on the details in the chat and see the cost per person up front.

Groups & events

Even easier with groups and events

Rides work perfectly well on their own – but in a group or at an event, shared rides almost arrange themselves.

Groups

For your club, team or circle of friends: members share rides within the group and post when they need a lift.

Events

Attach rides to an event so guests can offer seats or ask for a lift on the way there.

Companies

Help employees commute together and receive monthly CO₂ reports for your sustainability reporting.

Why Vodoro

Why Vodoro is Different

Plenty of ride boards exist. Vodoro starts where they stop: with the people who already share your way – at work, at university, in your club.

Built for communities, not just the commute

Groups for your club, university or company, events with rides there and back, a group chat and a feed with polls – so people who belong together also travel together.

Nothing suitable? Ask everyone at once

Post a ride request and every driver in your group sees it. With “could drive too” you show that you can take the wheel yourself.

No fees, no commission, no ads

Vodoro earns nothing from your ride: no booking or cancellation fees, for drivers or passengers. The agreed contribution goes entirely to the driver, and you see the maximum price before you ask.

Your address stays private

Others only see the town where a ride starts and ends, ride requests only an approximate area, and your home address is never shown. Vodoro runs in Germany, and our statistics respect your privacy: no cookies, no stored IP addresses.

Know who you ride with

Ratings and a reliability score show who sticks to arrangements. In a group you ride with people from your own company, university or club, and you can block and report anyone.

From the region

Vodoro is developed and run in Herrieden near Ansbach – for the journeys people make here every day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What makes Vodoro different from other ride-sharing services?

Vodoro is built for communities that travel together regularly – companies, universities, clubs and events – and is still open to everyone. It charges no fees, shows the town instead of your address and is developed in the region, in Herrieden.

What does Vodoro cost?

Vodoro is free for private users and has no ads. Companies with more than 100 employees pay a monthly licence for CO₂ reporting.

Do I need to join a group?

No. You can offer and find rides without any group. Groups and events are optional and make it easier to find regular rides.

How are ride costs calculated?

The driver sets a price per kilometre or a fixed price per passenger for the whole route. You pay for the part you ride along plus the detour the driver makes for you. All passengers together pay at most 30 cents per kilometre driven, the legal limit for a lift. If several passengers would pay more than that together, the app lowers everyone's price. Before you request a seat, you see the most your trip can cost.

Do I need to install an app?

No. The web app runs in any current browser. You can find the status of the Android and iOS apps on the download page.

Who can see my address?

By default, others only see the city where your ride starts and ends. Your pickup and drop-off points as a passenger are only visible to the driver.

Can I use Vodoro for my club or event?

Yes. Create a public group or one that people have to request to join, add events and let members offer each other rides.

Where can I get help?

The user guide explains every feature step by step. For anything else, write to us via the contact page.
